DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — Collin Morikawa withdrew from the final round of the Memorial on Sunday because of back spasms, keeping him from a chance to win for a second time at Muirfield Village.Morikawa had shot 68 in the third round and was two shots out of the lead. He said he was doing pre-round exercises when a muscle in his lower back gave out.“We were doing some like reflex stuff, trying to reach down and try to pick something up like quick and low. Went after it weird,” he said. “Literally have never had this in my life. I’ve hurt my back briefly before, but like nothing has been this bad, especially never warming up.”He said he tried hitting about 10 balls on the range and he hit a clunky 9-iron that went only about 95 yards. He realized that wouldn’t work at Muirfield Village.Morikawa won the Workday Charity Open at Muirfield Village in 2020 when it was held a week before the Memorial, replacing the Canadian Open during the COVID-19 pandemic.Morikawa said he wasn’t ov...Tampa Bay shortstop Wander Franco out of lineup vs Boston with sore left hamstring

The last time Alonso won, he did so right here on the same track back in 2013 with Ferrari when he claimed victory No. 32. He also won the Spanish GP in 2006 with Renault. But the Spanish driver was unable to recover from a mistake in Saturday’s qualifying when he drove his car into the gravel and damaged its floor. FRANKFURT, Germany — Saudi Arabia said Sunday that it will reduce how much oil it sends to the global economy, taking a unilateral step to support the sagging cost of crude after two previous cuts to supply by major oil-producing countries in the OPEC+ alliance failed to push prices higher. The announcement of Saudi’s cuts of 1 million barrels per day, which will start in July, followed a meeting of the alliance at OPEC headquarters in Vienna. The rest of the OPEC+ producers agreed to extend earlier production cuts through the end of 2024.“This is a grand day for us, because the quality of the agreement is unprecedented,” Saudi Energy Minister Abdulaziz bin Salman said at a news conference, adding that the new production targets are “much more transparent and much more fair.”Calling the Saudi reduction a “lollipop,” bin Salman said, “We wanted to ice the cake.” He said the cut could be extended and that the group “will do wh...Red Sox notebook: Yoshida playing his way into All-Star consideration

When Masataka Yoshida first signed with the Red Sox, the reaction from across baseball was far from glowing. The 29-year-old could hit in Japan, sure, but what exactly were the Red Sox getting with their five-year, $90 million investment? The answer, it turns out, is a possible MLB All-Star.Since working through his rough start Yoshida has emerged as one of the most productive outfielders in the American League. Entering Sunday Yoshida ranked second in the AL in batting average (.314) with seven home runs, 32 RBI and more walks (23) than strikeouts (22).His .899 OPS also ranks fourth in the league among qualified outfielders, and over his past seven games Yoshida was 12 for 25 (.480) with five extra-base hits.“His bat-to-ball skills always play, the discipline is always good, and it’s just part of the adjustment,” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said. “I’ve been saying it all along, the guy hits.”Yoshida’s start has put him in rare company.
